The mountain to the left is Mills Knob. In the middle is Caney Mountain.
Beyond Mills Knob, North Mills River Road leads to the park system and a windy way to Mt.
Pisgah. The usual drive to Mt. Pisgah is from the Blue-Ridge Parkway, a short ride North on
Brevard Rd (191)-- also called Old Haywood.

We have so much privacy-- kind of
a challenge to get an open view of
the house--- but that's GOOD!

The winter of 2010 was EXCITING! Not owning boots- we still got through it! Photo on right below is driveway. If you put down SALT-- NO
PROBLEM getting in and out. Since we are close to the gates only one time since we moved here in 2003 did we have to stay home
(because of the weather).
We put in a brand new heating/air system fall 2009 and added NATURAL GAS. Since the rear (and living area) of the house faces
South-West even on the coldest days we save energy. An added savings in we have TWO propane Fireplaces. The power rarely goes out
here- but if it does we are warm. The big storm of 2010-- we only were out of power for 3 hours or so. Snow was fun though!
